An Important Time of the Year: Happy Holidays

As the holidays draw near, there are many things that we all should be mindful of, including diversity. Although Christmas is the most publicized holiday, several nationalities celebrate different holidays. Holidays are a special time that can bring people closer together; they promote warmth and the importance of thinking about others.

This holiday season will be unlike the previous two, as covid is no longer a reason to keep us apart from our loved ones. That said, what will you be doing to try to re-strengthen your bonds with family and friends? Although, over the past two years, we have learned to communicate virtually, which has made our world a smaller place. That said, there is nothing like being near those we love & being able to experience the power of touch, taste, smell, sight & sound.

Although the media loves to glorify the differences between those who look & think differently from us, we as people have to recognize that there is much more that we have in common than we would like to acknowledge. Therefore, this holiday season, I encourage you to focus on how you can bring our commonalities to life. Learning about different people is a great way to understand how amazing our world truly is. Learning about new traditions may make you rethink how you celebrate or show appreciation towards your loved ones. The holiday season is a very important time of year; we all need to be around positive people and energy; it takes nothing to be minded and to spread kindness that will unite our communities. On that note, on behalf of flightunit, we wish you and all of your loved ones a kind, peaceful and delightful holiday season and a phenomenal new year ahead!!

To become a more inclusive society below, we have listed some of the holidays in December to be aware of and to learn more about:

  • Hanukkah: December 18th – 26th
  • Christmas 25th
  • Kwanzaa December 26- January 1

Change a Live Through the Power of a Compliments

When was the last time you received or gave a sincere compliment? Compliments can go a very long way in improving our morale and relationships. If we hold this true, what are the key reasons that discourage us from sharing more positive messages with others? The dictionary defines a compliment as a polite expression of praise or admiration. Based on this definition, compliments can take on many shapes and sizes. Compliments can range from sharing appreciation for the efforts or kindness of others to recognizing brilliance. Although giving compliments should be a no-brainer, they can also bring out our insecurities. Compliments are powerful; they empower people to believe in themselves and their talents, and they give people a boost of positive energy. When we operate from an ego-less state of mind, we are focused on improving our environment(s). When we are using our egos, we are concerned solely with ourselves; therefore, everyone is viewed as our competitor.

Whether you are a humanitarian or a competitor, one powerful thing about compliments is that we all crave them. Similar to icing on a cake, compliments are a game changer. As human beings, we all have to realize that there are several reasons why we all need each other, and this is one of them. We can give ourselves compliments, but it is not the same as receiving one from an external source. To add, I don’t think Michael Jordan would be the legend that we know him as if he didn’t desire the external accolades and praises that validated his efforts and commitment to success. Furthermore, those praise that we gave him not only brought out the best in MJ but it also granted us, the fans, the opportunity to witness extraordinary athleticism. We all benefit from uplifting others; we should remember this when we find our ego telling us otherwise.

As humans, we must understand that we each have the power to unlock special things within people. A compliment should be viewed as the perfect medicine for personal growth and helping to build confidence. Therefore, when we use compliments we can start to view ourselves as doctors who can improve and save lives.

Ready or Not, it is Back to School

Creating a Back-to-School state of mind for success

As our summer winds down and we begin to transition back into the familiar sights and sounds of school, many of us will be asking the same question: What will this new school year bring about? When we look at questions we have in common with others, we should share our answers collectively. In doing so we can raise and expand our expectations as individuals and as a whole. In times of uncertainty taking the time to acknowledge change is essential to stabilize our thoughts and increase our level of success and growth per situation.

When change is at our doorstep, it is the beginning of a new transitional period in our life. Change makes us uncomfortable while pushing us to step outside our comfort zone. Change and growth go hand in hand; one does not happen without the other. To add, without the right mindset to accompany us during challenging times, our struggles can severely affect our moods and outlook. Therefore, painting a bright picture for ourselves can be crucial in aiding us, especially when we know we will require extra fuel in our new journey. In light of this, taking time to paint our perfect picture clarifies our goals and helps us stay committed to our desired results,+

.When we encounter a significant change in our lives, we become vulnerable to many emotional states. Transitional periods can be chaotic, overwhelming, and complex, mainly if we do not remind ourselves that the changes ahead are here for our betterment. With back-to-school here, we want to help you and those around you have a wonderful school year ahead, so on that note, we would like to provide you with 2 tips to have a spectacular school year while improving your leadership skills.

  1. Schedule time to envision your success and what it will feel like to accomplish what you set out to do.

Moreover, imagine the type of individual you will become in this process. Everything starts and ends with you; therefore, if you want to become a great teacher one day, you must be a diligent student. The more you do this; it will help you to embrace the changes around you and the regressive thoughts that will try to attack you on your road to victory.

2. Share your hopes/dreams for the new school year with those around you and ask them what their goals are.

Together we are so much more impactful and effective; always remember the quote, “Teamwork makes the dream work.”. Be proactive in encouraging and inspiring others; it will help us to cultivate a winning mindset and raise our positive vibrations that will stay with us forever!

How Do We Say Goodbye to You Serena?

With one of the greatest tennis players announcing her retirement this past month, we decided to look back at one of the most selfless and respectful moments in Serena Williams’s career. Arguably the most remarkable women’s tennis player of all time shows us she not only has a championship pedigree but also has a heart of gold and is a natural leader.

How do you recover from an emotional meltdown?

That’s the challenge tennis player Serena Williams recently faced. Williams, one of the most celebrated tennis stars of all time, lost the U.S. Open to 20-year-old Japanese phenom Naomi Osaka.

But during the game, Williams received a warning from the chair umpire, Carlos Ramos, who believed Williams’s coach was sending her signals. (Williams’s coach later admitted to coaching Williams, although he doesn’t think she saw him.) Williams reacted strongly to the accusation.

“I don’t cheat to win. I’d rather lose,” she told the umpire.

Six games later, the umpire issued Williams a second code violation after she smashed her racket in frustration, resulting in an automatic point loss. In the ensuing conversation, the previous cheating accusation came up, and Williams demanded an apology for accusing her of cheating. When he refused, she called him a thief for “stealing” a point from her.

At this point, the umpire issued a third violation for “verbal abuse,” resulting in a lost game for Williams. U.S. Open officials rushed onto the court to examine the matter. At the end of the conference, though, the decisions stood.

Osaka went on to win the match convincingly. But as she and Williams stood for the trophy presentation, the crowd loudly booed and jeered, protesting what they felt was unfair treatment leveled against Williams.

Osaka notably pulled her cap over her eyes to hide her reaction. Both she and Williams were in tears.

Then, something extraordinary happened.

Williams put her arm around Osaka’s shoulder.

She then addressed the crowd:

“I just want to tell you guys she played well, and this is her first grand slam. I know you were rooting here, and I was rooting too, but let’s make this the best moment we can. We’ll get through it. Let’s give everyone the credit where credit’s due. Let’s not boo anymore. We’re going to get through this and let’s be positive. So congratulations, Naomi. No more booing.”

Amazingly, not only did the crowd then stop booing, they erupted into voracious cheers.

Williams thanked the crowd, joyfully expressing her desire to be at the Open again, despite her admission that playing there had been tough on her.

The crowd applauded.

Osaka applauded.

Williams certainly allowed her emotions to get the better of her during the match–but her actions on the podium were a powerful example of positive emotional influence: the ability to inspire others to think differently, to see things from a new perspective, and even to change their behavior.

We can only imagine what was going through Williams’s mind at the moment. A fierce competitor, she likely felt that she was robbed of a championship.

But Williams also showed clearly that the last thing she wanted to do was take away from Osaka’s moment. So she got control of her emotions, congratulated her opponent, and convinced the crowd to do the same.

It was a remarkable demonstration of respect and empathy–and it was one more reason opponents’ respect for Williams is so great.

“It was always my dream to play Serena in the U.S. Open finals, so I’m really glad I was able to do that,” Osaka said. She then addressed Williams directly: “I’m really glad I was able to play with you. Thank you.”

To use one’s emotions as a power for good, to inspire and motivate others–that’s emotional intelligence at its finest.

Why is Respect so Powerful and Essential in our Daily Interactions?

When we watch children play, we can quickly see the presence or lack of respect. Our interactions significantly impact who we are, how we feel, and how we see the world. Therefore, we must start having more conversations in and around this powerful word, “respect.” When we feel respected, we are more likely to showcase an empowered and confident version of ourselves. If our goal is to live our best life, we must ask ourselves two fundamental questions: 1) what things and character traits do I respect in other people? And 2) what things and features do I appreciate about myself? These are two critical questions we should all ask ourselves to become aware of our influences and internal compass. Beyond these, there are several benefits to asking ourselves these questions, including the following to name a few:

Reason # 1:  Looking at and analyzing other people is much easier; we can witness, hear about or experience these things. These things usually inspire us and increase our resolve in what we should strive for.

Reason # 2: The things we respect can improve and decrease us. Therefore, we must constantly evaluate the things that we place value in.

Reason # 3: When we can identify the things we respect about others, it is a great road map to better understanding ourselves and the direction(s) we are moving towards.

Respect is such a beautiful and potent thing that many of us fail to comprehend daily. For many, this simple mistake unknowingly reduces our quality of life. If a broken clock can be right twice a day, we all deserve to be respected! To become excellent leaders, we must recognize that respect is a superhero power. When we acknowledge people’s areas of greatness or exceptional skills, we are giving life and enhancing the ability for everyone to grow leaps and bounds. For respect to become more impactful, it must be shared. On that note, I would like to challenge you; the next time you say or hear this quote, “to get respect, we must give respect (first),” be sure to tap into the totality of this statement. If we recognize and treat “respect” as an energy source, we will be able to experience its powerful boomerang effect only when we begin to share it. That said, are you ready to take a giant leap as a leader and enhance your life by acknowledging the strengths of others more often and consistently?

Make a Difference

There’s a popular saying that goes as follows; “the world is six degrees of separation.” When you hear that, what does that tell you? For me, this means that although there are 7 billion plus people on the planet, we are closer and more connected than we think. When we watch the news, we are made aware of the numerous problems happening worldwide. When we see these things, we must ask ourselves what the ripple effect is and how this will impact me and those I love. These are very important questions for us to ask ourselves, as many of us don’t realize that we live in an imaginary bubble that detaches us from the world.

Although we may not look or sound like our worldly neighbors, that does not mean we should not value their well-being. In the same way that we rarely think about the numerous things that occur to allow us to breathe, we have to do a better job of being more connected to our ecosystem as it is very fragile. We should not downplay the role we each play in each other’s lives. Regardless of our position in society, no one can control tomorrow’s events or predict whose help we will need and when. Therefore, I encourage you to be more proactive in making a difference, from using your voice to speak up to making a new friend.

As time passes by, empathy and compassion are becoming forgotten about traits. Throughout our day, we can all play a better role in making the world a kinder and more gentle place to live. For instance, if we throw a pebble into a river, although small, we can see an effect; that said be sure not to downplay the power of your words and actions. We all have a limited time on this planet so every day that you have, make a certified effort to make a positive difference, big or small.

Self Love for Beginners

All too often we find people scrunching up their nose at the mention of self-love, as if it’s a bit cheesy and self-indulgent. But learning to love yourself is one of the most powerful and important things you can do in life. Your heart is your power and when you become the source of love in your own life it changes everything. Your relationships, your career, your health – they all flourish when you start to love yourself.

But while we all know deep down that it’s important to love yourself, we find the area that people get most stuck on is actually knowing how to do it.

At Project Love, we like to look at self-love as an art that can be practiced and mastered over time. When we practice self-love, we cultivate a loving and healthy relationship with ourselves and something magical happens – we become our own best friend.

As Oscar Wilde once said, “to love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance”.
So how do we start that romance? How do we learn to love ourselves?

Well here are 7 ways you can start practicing the art of self-love straight away:

1. Nourish yourself

If you’re totally new to the practice of self-love then start with focusing on nourishing yourself. Nourishing your body is the most basic form of loving yourself, so this week become mindful of what you put in your body – give it what it loves. Start your day with a green smoothie, treat yourself to a raw chocolate snack and make time to cook yourself a nutritious dinner full of superfoods. The way we feed ourselves reflects how we love ourselves. So get good at nourishing yourself and you’ll lay strong foundations to self-love.

2. Take yourself out on a date

If you’ve never taken yourself out on a date before then make this the month that you do it. Solo-dating is all about spending quality time with yourself and doing something special, just for you. It is one of the most powerful (and fun) things you can do when it comes to practicing self-love. By doing something special for yourself – something you’d only normally do with someone else – you’re giving yourself the love and attention you’d normally only give out to others. You’re finally turning your love in on yourself. We’ve had clients do anything from treating themselves to coffee and a cake at their favourite cafe to taking themselves away on a spa weekend. Whatever people do, they always come away buzzing from it.

3. Start a gratitude journal

It has been proven that just by writing down 5 things that you’re grateful for each day, you can train your brain to be more positive, treating yourself to an overall feeling of happiness. It is a key tool when it comes to practicing self-love because it has us step into an attitude of gratitude, love and abundance.

So buy yourself a notebook and at the end of each day, for the next week, write down 5 things you’re grateful for and see how good it feels to end your day this way.

And as well as giving thanks for things that have happened to you that day and the people in your life that you’re thankful for, also include yourself in your gratitude practice. Find at least one thing you can thank yourself for each day and you’ll see your relationship with yourself shift into an incredibly loving place.

4. Make your body happy

It is essential when learning to love ourselves that we focus plenty of time and attention on our bodies. How we feel in our bodies directly affects how we feel in ourselves. Often feelings of loneliness and lack of love actually stem from our own disconnect with our bodies. You want to keep that gorgeous body of yours feeling energised and full of vitality. So it’s important that as part of your self-love routine you do things that make you feel great in your body; whether that’s yoga, running, 80’s Aerobics or dancing like Beyonce (a particular favourite of ours)!

5. Express yourself

It’s so important to find ways to really express yourself and feel free to be totally you. Whether it’s dancing, writing, singing, painting, acting, sculpting, cooking, making music, sketching, DJ’ing, pottery or poetry – everyone has something that does it for them. It’s often something we did naturally as children. It’s always something that makes us feel fully alive.

So what is it for you? When do you feel you can really let go and be who you truly are? If it’s not something you do at the moment, then think back to earlier years. What makes you come alive and really connect with the deepest parts of yourself? Now go and make time for it in your life. Whether it’s unleashing your inner Rihanna on the dance floor, singing like no-one’s listening or painting in big bold brush strokes, just for the fun of it, it’s essential that you make time to do the things that allow you to really express yourself from the heart.

6. Write a loving letter to yourself

Pick up a pen and with the same love and fondness you’d write to a dear friend, write a letter to yourself. Write about the things in your life right now that make you happy and the people in your life that bring you joy, inspiration and kindness. Reflect on how you’re feeling, give yourself a pep talk if you feel you need one and document your dreams and wishes for the future. If there’s something in your life that you’re struggling with at the moment, see what advice and encouragement you can give to yourself, celebrate your achievements and sign your letter off with love. Then pop that letter in the post and enjoy receiving it a few days later!

7. Shower yourself in feel-good vibes

We have far more power than we often realise to generate the feelings we want to experience in life, no matter where we are or what’s going on around us. We just have to learn how to tap into those feelings. An easy way to do it is to think back to a time in your life where you felt full of joy, happiness, peace or fulfilment – whatever it is you want to feel – and then find a photo of you from that time that really reminds you of what it was like to feel that way, so much so that you start to feel that way again just by looking at the photo.

Now put that photo somewhere where you’ll see it every day: save it as your phone screensaver or print it out and stick it up on your bathroom mirror. Whenever you need a boost to your day, take a look at that picture and let yourself bathe in those feel-good vibes.

What Are You Doing to Improve your Mental Wellness?

Healthy living is what we all strive for but for many of us it is an item that we either hear about or see in a shopping window, something nice to have one day. In our first step towards living a better life lets all celebrate August together with great energy and excitement, for it is Wellness Month! So on that note Happy Wellness Month!! To show our true appreciate for our personal well-being lets all do more things, that make us feel healthier and be happier! Wellness needs to be a conversation that we are all having, a part of and adding to in order to improve our emotional state of mind. We have all heard the saying “health is wealth” and if we hold this to be truth how long will we continue to prioritize material success above our well-being. Without our health we are paralyzed and by reading this article it is my hope that you become an Ambassador of Mental Wellness. A healthy mindset is key to establishing a healthy lifestyle which will dramatically improve how you interact with everything in the world. We live in a fast pace world where busy is a badge of honor and being physically active is viewed as a luxury and not a necessity. We all will have our date with father time, today I ask you “how exquisite do you want this dance to be?” each day we are creating a piece of it. If we can each commit to focusing on doing the right things daily, we can all enjoy this dance and age like fine wine .

So today I ask you to be a part of the conversation of putting wellness front and center. Before I continue, I would like to provide you with a definition of wellness that will gives us all a greater context on what we are trying to accomplish here today.  Wellness: the act of practicing healthy habits on a daily basis to attain better physical and mental outcomes, so that instead of just surviving, we’re thriving! This definition brings awareness to the important making the connection between being both physically and mentally active.

As human beings a large portion of our success is tied to our identities which is rooted in our physical and mental health. Unfortunately, since we cannot visually see our mental health many of us neglect and ignore this massive part of our being. In an effort to normalize and promote mental wellness I want to encourage you to engage in more discussions that connect to your emotions and your thoughts. Furthermore is request is not a passive ask, it is an aggressive ask to take this seriously!! It is instrumental for our mental development to be able to have these types of conversations consistently. At a basic level when I reference the term “physically fit”, I am referring to the discipline that is required to strengthen our bodies, muscles and tendons. To be physically strong is more than just looking and feeling great, this discipline impacts our moods, our conversations with self, others and it also helps to prevent illness and injuries. Too many of us take our physical health for granted and it massive ripple effect. Therefore it is fine time that we start to view our daily activities in connection to our best self. This simple activity can have an immense impact on your bodies and the life that you are creating for yourself.

Conversely, when I mention the term “mentally fit”, at a basic level I am referring to our ability to have healthy relationships with ourselves, others and to be a positive contributor to the world. Mental fitness impacts not only how we interact with the world but also how we view and process external events and messages. In the same way that every object can be viewed from a multitude of angles which paints a uniquely beautiful picture. We all must understand that we are experiencing and internalizing life from a very limited point of view. To be mentally fit is to be proactive in breaking down our external world in a constructive way that creates greater perspective, builds stronger character while raising our standards and thought processes.

We are all highly emotional and habitual creatures, based on this we must strive to create routines that will reduce some of our emotional decisions along our life long journey. When we are making many of our decisions on emotion this is an indicator that we are not in control of ourselves. That said we should all aim to go to bed excited about a vision of a healthier and brighter tomorrow and its endless possibilities to be better. This will help us to increase our level of commitment in order to weather the storm(s). In reading this article my goal is to raised your consciousness around wellness and the need to make this a part of our regular conversations. On that note I would like to leave you with 4 tips to not only get this conversation started but to sharpen your mental astuteness and to turn you into an active Ambassador of Mental Wellness.

4 Tips to Being Mentally Sharp:

1. Be Intentional: Our minds are absolutely brilliant and need to be pointed it in the right direction in order to perform well. Intentionality requires us to be more present, thoughtful and purposeful in using our minds. It is critical that we always remember that we are at our best when our thoughts and actions align. To be more successful in more areas of our lives we need to be mentally proactive in regards to the direction that we need to and need not go in. This includes the conversations that we need to be having with who. I say this to increase your awareness on how easy it is for us to end up on a different road than the one we intended to be on. This can happen especially when we are not completely committed to a specific outcome or expectation.

2. Increase your Positive Vibration: One indicator that allows us to know that we are learning and growing as people is our ability to challenge ourselves and to make changes. For example, being able to say “no” to our late night cravings, saying hi to more people on a regular basis or trying to do something new! We have to elevate our thinking and in doing so we can elevate our personal vibration. We all feed off of each others energy and it is important that we do an energy check regularly to ensure that we are giving off the right type of energy. When we can change our relationship(s) with how we see and interact with the world we create better overall experiences. There is a saying that says “short term losses for long term gains” or in other words, it is not about what you are giving up in the short term it is about what you will be getting in the medium to long-term.

3. Check-in with Yourself and Those Around You: It is absolutely critical to be able to acknowledge how you are feeling. It is said that if we can properly articulate how we are feeling you can drastically reduce your stress levels and begin to trace the path of your discomfort. Be sure to take the time to be more in-tune with yourself and those around you.

4. Create a Clean and friendly Environment Around Yourself: It is said that cleaning is therapeutic and there are many reasons for this finding. With a little bit of effort we are all able to see great results in a relative short period of time. As well cleaning helps to bring about a greater level of consciousness to our lives, the more conscious we are, the better of a job we tend to do. Furthermore, being in a clean environment can improve our thought process while helping to inspire new ideas. Be sure not to limit the amount of environments that you can clean/impact with your midas touch. Always remember we are all special and the simple things that we do can make a huge difference such as sharing a powerful quote or hearing words that bring warm thoughts to our hearts and minds.

Leader of the Month – Jacinda Ardern

Jacinda Ardern had already sealed her position as a great leader early in her premiership of New Zealand, by empathetically steering her country through the aftermath of a terror attack and the deadly eruption of a volcano. Then the COVID-19 pandemic struck, and Ardern targeted not just suppression of the virus, but its complete elimination. Though there have been a few scares, her strategy largely proved successful; New Zealand, a nation of nearly 5 million people, has seen fewer than 2,700 cases and only 26 deaths. Ardern and her cabinet ministers took a six-month, 20% pay cut in 2020 to show solidarity with people who had lost their livelihoods owing to the pandemic.

Ardern’s party won landslide reelection in October, fueled by her star power, her straight talk, and the fact that her government’s heavy restrictions on international travel made it possible for life to continue with relative normality within New Zealand’s borders. She has also adopted world-leading climate and gender-equity policies. In March, New Zealand became the first country to require that banks, investment managers, and insurers disclose the effects of climate change on their businesses. And last year, Ardern’s administration made it easier for women to negotiate with their employers for more equitable pay.

This month we would like to recognize the Jacinda Arden as our leader of the month. It is important to put a light on those that lead with the intention of improving the lives of others. On that note we would like to thank you for being a positive contributor to New Zealand and the world at large.

July is Leadership Month

The month of July is a time to celebrate for several reasons, one being that it is the beginning of summer and another being that it is Leadership Month. Leadership is something that we all need to be more conscious of because it has a massive impact on how we see ourselves and how we operate within the world. That said there are several reasons why I am absolutely in love with leadership as it applies to everyone and it is a total game changer.

I am not sure if any of you have ever seen the movie Limitless featuring Bradley Cooper. For those of you who haven’t it is about a man who stumbles upon a secret pill that gives him superhuman capabilities when he takes it. The main character is able to study and understand different subject matters within days opposed to a life time after taking the pill. He is also able to learn new languages within hours and able to slow things down in the moment so that he can produce his desired outcome. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and after watching it I started to ponder more on ways to increase my ability to be brilliant.

The concept of this movie is still very real and relevant in our fast pace society. When I think about a limitless pill, I immediately see the natural connection to leadership. Although the movie embellishes the instant impact and effectiveness of the pill, leadership can give anyone a superhero strength. For instance, when one truly commits to being a better leader in any area of their life, the change can be felt and seen. Leadership changes our relationships with the world and how we interact with people and things. Leadership is such a powerful title under a simple word and for this reason it eludes many. There are several aspects of leadership which include believing in one self and their unique purpose. Leadership also speaks to the power of collaboration, gratitude, appreciation amongst other important things. As an organization that is dedicated to this vocation, we are happy to share the limitless pill of leadership with those that are ready to take the plunge and embark on a journey of living exceptionally.

With this in mind we encourage you to start being more analytical. The next time you catch yourself making a decision be sure to ask yourself, am I taking this decision with a leader or a follower mindset. Furthermore, what type of ripple effect can I expect, negative, positive or both? On that note we would like to wish you a Happy Leadership Month, be sure to take some time to discover the awesome beast that lies within you!!

Feather #1: Me, Myself, and I

We are seldom aware of the power of our own presence. The presence of a single person can alter conversations and drastically change the overall mood. It is important to understand what type of influence we currently have and want to have on others.

Me, Myself, and I is the foundation principle of our “Feather” system. We have chosen this as our first Feather to emphasize the importance of self, self-awareness, and self-development. We believe that in order to advance in life, one must commit to their personal growth. Our daily choices dictate the boundaries of our growth – they can be our road to success or our path to failure. Discovering who we are is no simple task, but when we do, we unlock the keys to our success.

Questions for Reflection:
1) What motivates me?

2) What are my thoughts and beliefs?
a) Am I confident in them?

3) Who do I surround myself with?
a) What impact are they having on me?
b) What do we have in common?

4) Where do my thoughts take me when my mind wanders?
a) Are these thoughts positive and allow me to grow or are they negative and are harmful?

5) What are the major influences on my decision-making process? (e.g. personal success, public opinion, time commitments, ego, media, etc.)
a) Does how I spend my time reflect this?
b) How do these influences enrich me as a person?

Bonus Questions:
This Feather is so important for growth and success, we have provided bonus questions that will allow for a thorough self-examination.

6) Am I honest with myself and others?
a) Can others be brutally honest with me?

7) Am I aware of my mistakes?
a) Am I learning from them?

8) Which has a greater impact on my decisions, fear or courage?

9) Am I able to forgive others?
a) Am I able to forgive myself for my thoughts and actions?
b) Can I face conflict with the goal of reaching a resolution and learning from it?

10) What do I want people to say about me when I am not around them?

Benefits of Feather #1:
There’s an English writer named John Brown who said, “Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.” Everything begins and ends with us. The choice to be phenomenal or to live a disappointing life lies within our hands. We are creatures of habit – it is crucial that we develop the right habits and a growth mindset for success. With the right mindset we can become unstoppable!

Set 2 goals for yourself to aid in your growth for the current month:

Tips for success:
1) Allocate time to reflect everyday
2) Do not limit yourself

Feather #2: Physical, Mental, and Spiritual Health

Our physical, mental, and spiritual health play a significant role in shaping our ability to live life to the fullest. Although we are complex creatures, we are a single mind, body, and soul, and therefore everything we do impacts every aspect of our well-being. It is important to have balance to ensure that we are creating greater opportunities for growth, health, and happiness.

Questions for Reflection:
1) How physically active am I?

2) Do I take the time to learn what I am putting into my body?

3) Do I have faith in a higher power?
a) If so, how am I developing and strengthening my faith?

4) Am I aware of what causes me stress?
