As quickly as summer vacation arrived, it has disappeared & now it’s time for students, staff & parents to transition back to school mode. Starting a new school year can be exciting but also nerve-racking for many for everyone. This is why it’s crucial to start on the right foot. Preparing yourself mentally and physically for the upcoming academic year is essential, which is not limited to homework but includes the social side of things & opening oneself up to different conversations with different people.

One key aspect of living a long & happy life is making new friends. Meeting new people and building solid relationships can enhance your school experience and help shape your future. Social skills are just if not more necessary than academic skills. As humans, we thrive off social interaction, and developing friendships can provide a sense of belonging and support system throughout the school year. Another key aspect is the importance of planning and executing. How do you juggle everything when you have homework, events, and work? Planning your day, weeks, and months will help you understand and complete your tasks. All students should remember this stat; “Writing down your tasks can increase your completion rate by 52%”. Think about it, just by writing and planning out your day, you have increased your chances for success.

In conclusion, starting a new school year can be nerve-wracking, but also an opportunity to grow academically and socially. Embrace the change, prepare yourself, and take the time to meet new people to create a positive and memorable experience.
